I recently got the chance to try the new Cheez-It Frozen Pizza, and I’m breaking it all down in this Cheez-It Frozen Pizza review. While I didn’t pick it out myself, I was immediately intrigued when I pulled it out of the grocery bag. My fiancé surprised me with it, knowing I’ve always had a soft spot for Cheez-Its. I didn’t even realize it was a collaboration with Palermo’s until I took a closer look—which was a bonus surprise since I used to live in Milwaukee where Palermo’s is kind of a big deal.

This pizza cooks fast: 450 degrees for 8 minutes is the official recommendation. I went 9, because I’m a rebel and I like my crust crispy. No tweaks, no added toppings, no dipping sauce—I wanted to give it a clean, honest shot straight out of the box.

The crust is undeniably Cheez-It flavored. If you’ve ever wanted your pizza crust to taste like a baked cheddar cracker, well, you’re in luck. It’s cheesy, salty, and has a nice crunch thanks to the thin crust. But once you get past the novelty, the rest of the pizza is, frankly, mid. Not bad, not great. Just a very average frozen pizza experience.

As someone who enjoys Lotzza Mozza, Jack’s, DiGiorno, and Tombstone, I’d say this lands somewhere below most of those. I’m a meat-lover, and we tried the Pepperoni version, which had a decent amount of toppings but nothing that really wowed.
