Google AI Studio is rolling out custom subdomains for deployed apps. Every app can now claim a pretty URL at http://your-own-url.ai.studio for free.
Logan Kilpatrick announced the rollout on X, and the message is simple: free apps, free deploys, and now free custom URLs on top of both.
Why AI Studio URLs Matter
This is a small change, but it removes one of the last friction points for anyone building with Google AI Studio. Before this, deployed apps got a generic subdomain. Now you can name it whatever fits.
The move makes sense. AI Studio has been quietly competitive as a vibe coding and app deployment platform. I covered how to build apps with it back in December, and the biggest selling point has always been that you can go from prompt to a live, shareable app without touching infrastructure. Free custom URLs reinforce that story.
For anyone who builds and shares prototypes regularly, this removes a small but real friction point. A yourapp.ai.studio URL looks better in a portfolio, a demo, or a pitch than a random hashed subdomain.
The feature is rolling out today.
